Tami Morgan, 48, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at her home away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 6:30 PM prayer service on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Will Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Tami's name.

Tami was born on September 20, 1974, to Clet and Linda (Courtney) Schoenfelder in Mitchell, SD.  She attended Mt. Vernon School in Mt. Vernon, SD through her Freshman year, then graduated from Mitchell High School in 1993.  She worked at several retail jobs before working at Payless Shoes for 19 years; then in 2019 she started working at Edgewood Memory Care Center in Mitchell, SD as their Life Enrichment Coordinator.  Tami poured her heart and soul into her residents and delighted in their very being. She truly loved her job and the people her work touched.

Tami was united in marriage with Dave Morgan on September 17, 1999, in Mitchell, SD where they resided until his passing in 2001.  She met her partner, Scott Dey in 2002 and resided in Mitchell, SD until her untimely passing.

Tami was a force to be reckoned with and she lived for her kids and enjoyed helping others and was the definition of spirit of service.  She had a huge heart and was always giving of herself, a trait she passed on to her children.  She was always willing to jump in wherever needed. But along with her help came friendship, a lengthy conversation, laughter, and usually a story or two that would have you cry-laughing.  Tami loved being a mother to her three children and created so many beautiful memories for them. Tami was an incredible mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma, advocate, friend and all-around amazing human being and our world is shaken with her passing.  She cherished her volunteer work as the Chairperson of Heart & Sole, being a Choir Mom for the Mitchell Area Children's Choir (Mom Squad), Maximum Velocity and Friend De Coup (FDC); her vacations with her kids and any time spent with her family and friends.  She poured her heart and soul into these events and trips to make sure everything was special to all involved.

Grateful for having shared her life are her  partner, Scott Dey their children, Riley Dey (17), Josie Dey (14), and Zander Dey (10) who reside in Mitchell, SD;; her siblings, Tim (Ann) Schoenfelder, Knoxville, TN, Tina (Ken) Lloyd, Falcon, CO, Todd (Linda) Schoenfelder, Sioux Falls, SD, Tom (Stephanie) Schoenfelder, Knoxville, TN and Troy (Katherine) Schoenfelder, Meridianville, AL; her stepchildren, Jeanie Morgan (Mitchell, SD), Jon Morgan (Mitchell, SD), Daniel Morgan (Mitchell, SD); Joni (Brett) Jager, Sioux Falls, SD, Cassi (Ryan) Lenger, Fulton, SD, Lindsi (Jasen) Van Woert, Sioux Falls, SD; 12 grandchildren.

Tami was preceded in death by her first husband, Dave Morgan on 11/26/01, her parents, Clet and Linda Schoenfelder, and step-granddaughter, Bella Morgan.
