Darlene Lorraine Vickers, age 97, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Darlene Lorraine Love was born on August 9, 1927  to Chester & Gladys (Bowman) Love. She attended Mitchell schools and graduated from Mitchell High in 1945. She met Jack Jr. Joachim and they were united in marriage on February 21, 1945. They raised 2 children, Rickie and Tanda. Jack passed away in 1961. She then married Thomas Wayne Vickers on November 10, 1961. Wayne passed away in 2002.

She worked at Hallmark for 39 years and was known as the Hallmark Lady by many. Darlene was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She had a heart for animals, flower gardening, knick knacks, her tv programs and in her granddaughters school years, hosting many friends where she always served lunchables. She also loved heading to Sioux Falls to see her granddaughter, grandson-in law, 3 great grandchildren, & her grand-dog, who were the light of her life. She enjoyed watching their many dance shows, reading books, and having home cooked meals surrounded by her family & being Brandee's kitchen taste-tester.

Survivors include her daughter Tanda (Ronald) Miller, Grandaughter Brandee (Andy) Lindsay, Great Grandchildren Emma, Olivia, Everett Lindsay, and furry grand-dog Riley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and son, Rickie.
