Zoldene Martensen age 90, of Parkston died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a visitation 1 hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Serviceman's Memorial Cemetery. Zoldene was born in Winner, SD on March 11, 1921 to John and Hazel (Hale) Orel, where she was raised and attended school. She married George Martensen on September 26, 1946 at Lake Andes, SD. After their marriage they lived in Winner until moving to Mitchell and was a member of Degree of Honor and also worked as a waitress. In 1979 they moved to Parkston and Zoldene worked at the Senior Citizen Center until health no longer permitted. Grateful for sharing her life are her children Jim and wife Deb Martensen of Huntley, IL, Nancy and husband Meryle Blow of Mitchell, SD and Neal Mortensen of Brookings, SD; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grand children; one sister Joan Galoway of Boone, IA. She was preceded in by her parents, husband George in 2000, son Doyle Martensen and a great granddaughter.
