Wilma Jonasen, 96, of Mitchell, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Friday October 18, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Will Funeral Chapel.

Wilma was born on November 21, 1927 in Mitchell to William and Bessie (Roush) Mollet. She attended Mitchell High School. On February 10, 1948 she married Thomas Jonasen. Wilma worked for over 45 years; at Votech daycare, Armours Creamary, Randall's, Brady Memorial, Holy Family Church, as well as hauling freight.

She enjoyed going to the store, shopping, attending church and visiting with people; even people she did not know. Wilma loved to yodel for all us all. She was a member of Holy Spirit before becoming a member at Holy Family. Wilma was also involved in a program that took care of visiting ministers.

Wilma is survived by her children; Robert (Carol) Jonasen, Mary (Robert) Renken, Michael (Jayne) Jonasen, Jeanne (Irvin) Arbeiter, 16 grandchildren many great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Bill, daughter in-law, Mary Pat, grandson, Christopher, great grandson, Alexander, siblings, Eva Pranke, Mary Craig, and Lloyde Mollet.
