Wilma M. Aulner, age 94 of Mitchell, formally of Letcher, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Firesteel Healthcare. Funeral services will be 10:30AM Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8PM with a prayer service at 7:00PM at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery in Letcher, SD. Wilma Mae Aulner, daughter of Irvine and Mary (Butcher) McGee was born on April 7, 1918 in McMinnville, TN. She attended school at Hinders Country School in rural Letcher, SD. On January 15, 1936 she married Bernard Vermeulen together they had six children. Bernard passed away on September 23, 1971. She then married Otto Oehlerking, Jr. on October 22, 1983, Otto passed away on August 5, 1985. Wilma married Albert Aulner on March 29, 1989, Albert passed away on May 15, 2004. Wilma worked at Letcher Public School as a cook and enjoyed dancing. Wilma was member of Holy Spirit Church & Altar Society she had also been a member of St. Scholastica's Church & Altar Society. Grateful to have shared Wilma's life are her children; Shirley (Harry) Northrup of Letcher, SD; Mary Jo (Terry) McGraw of Castlerock, CO; Dick (Myrna) Vermeulen of Sioux Falls, SD; Ron (Lynette) Vermeulen of Mitchell, SD; Gary (Maxine) Vermeulen of Casper, WY; daughter-in-law Dee Ann Vermeulen of Rapid City, SD ; three sisters Joyce (Don) Lucas of Reliance, SD; Hazel Brinkman of Blain, NE; Delores (Bill) Bunde of Lyons, SD; her 26 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and her step-children and grandchildren from the families of Oehlerking and Aulner. Wilma is preceded into death by her husbands, Bernard Vermeulen, Otto Oehlerking, Jr., Albert Aulner; son, Thomas; granddaughter, Debora (Northrup) Moody; four brothers and one sister.
