Willis Edward Peyton Jr. age 71, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Willis Edward Peyton Jr., son of Willis Edward Peyton and Dorothy Morrison, was born December 17, 1943 in Fredericksburg, VA. He grew up and received his education in Fredericksburg. Willis was employed at Sunshine Laundry and later at St. Mary's Catholic Church, both located in Fredericksburg, VA. Willis was united in marriage with Brenda Jordan on January 20, 1962 in Fredericksburg, VA. The couple moved to Mitchell, SD in May of 1997. While in Mitchell, he was employed at the Mitchell Park and Rec and later volunteered at Meadow Lawn Plaza. He enjoyed playing games and watching TV. Willis loved animals and especially cats. Grateful for having shared his life are his sister, Ann Peyton Embery, Fredericksburg, VA; four sisters-in-law, Wanda (Joe) Kaus, Alexandria, SD, Elizabeth (Jack) Boswell, Virginia, Nancy (Jerry) Williams, Fredericksburg, VA, Marie (Travis) Cooper, Fredericksburg, VA; a brother-in-law, Keith Jordan, Fredericksburg, VA; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Peyton; his parents; 3 brothers-in-law, Don Embery, Benjamin Jordan Jr and Harold Jordan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Mitchell Heart and Sole Cancer Walk.
