William L. Willis, age 71, of Ethan died July 6, at the Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 10, at the United Methodist Church in Ethan. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the American Legion Cemetery in Mitchell with military rites. Bill Willis was born in Ethan, SD on November 20, 1932. He attended elementary school in Ethan and graduated from Ethan High School in 1950. While in high school, he participated in all sports; football, basketball and spring activities. Bill attended Dakota Wesleyan University for two years. In 1952, he went into service with the US Army. He served overseas with General Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and was discharged in 1954. He returned to Dakota Wesleyan and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1956. He was currently serving as finance officer for the city of Ethan. Bill served as business manager for the Ethan School District for eighteen years. He is survived by a sister, Dorothy Kaser, of Lincoln, Nebraska; a brother, George Willis and wife, Florence of Sioux Falls and many nieces and nephews.
