William Bill Wagner, age 69, of Alexandria, SD, died October 20 at the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Monday, at the St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 PM at the church with a 7 PM prayer service and rosary. Burial will be in St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Bill Wagner was born on December 1, 1936, to Anthony and Angela (Schiltz) Wagner on the family farm south east of Alexandria. He attended the Wayne #1 Country school and graduated in 1955 from Hanson High. After high school, he joined the United States Navy on January 12, 1956, and served until December 13, 1958. Bill was united in marriage to Donna M. Muntefering on September 9, 1959, in Ethan, SD. Bill worked as a dairy farmer and also with the Hanson County Highway Department. Donna passed away on June 14, 1992. Bill married Julie Steilen on July 31, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Julie of Alexandria; sons, Don Wagner and Larry Wagner, of Kansas City, Missouri; a grandson, Tony, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Donna, a daughter, Patricia Wagner, in infancy; brothers, Harold and Jim and a sister, Joan Weber.
