William H. Vlieger, age 57, of Sioux Falls, SD died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Dougherty Hospice House. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery in Fulton, SD. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Bill Vlieger, son of Donald and Bernice (Wurster) Vlieger, was born November 24, 1953 in Mitchell, SD. He attended grade school in Watertown, SD and high school in Mitchell. Bill graduated from Mitchell High School in 1972 and then graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute in 1973. He was a baker for 23 years in, Salem, Lemmon, Storm Lake and finally at HyVee in Sioux Falls. Bill was united in marriage with Bonnie Tomes on August 6, 1982 in Sioux Falls. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Vlieger, Sioux Falls; his mother, Bernice Vlieger, Mitchell; four brothers, Francis (Darla) Vlieger, Fulton, Eldon, Elwin and Dick Vlieger, all of Topeka, KS; brothers-in-law, David and Bruce Tomes, Sioux Falls; sisters-in-law, Sara Tomes, Madison, SD, Judy Tomes, Texas; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Vlieger; grandparents and his uncles.
