William "Bill" T. Hoffman age 67, of Letcher died Monday, December 28, 2015 at his residence. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Scholastica Cemetery in Letcher.

William Timothy Hoffman was born in Mitchell, SD on January 29, 1948 to Eva (Swank) and Joseph Hoffman Sr. He attended Letcher grade school and graduated from Letcher High School in 1966. Bill farmed on the family farm where he married Marlene Olson on January 16, 1976. Bill worked with the Sanborn County Highway Department for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator before retiring.

He was a member of St. Scholastica's Catholic Church in Letcher and Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. Bill enjoyed farming, collecting International toy tractors, farm sales, rummage sales and fishing with his grandchildren.

Grateful for sharing his life is his wife Marlene of Letcher,SD; son Ed (Tiffany) Hoffman of Letcher; daughter Missy Hobaugh of Letcher, SD; grandchildren Tori Hoffman, Landon Hoffman and Michael Hoffman of Letcher, SD; sisters Joann (Woody) Jewell of Jacksonville, FL and Donna Strong of Pukwana, SD; father and mother-in-law Clarence (Sally) Olson of Letcher, SD; sisters-in-law Patricia Hoffman of Mitchell, Karen Hoffman of Letcher, SD and Linda (Todd) Francis of Mitchell, SD.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joseph Jr., Leo and Glen; son-in-law Brian Hobaugh and brothers-in-law Rich and Jay Olson.
