William "Bill" Geraets, age 75, of Mitchell, SD died Tuesday, June 7, 2022 under hospice care at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, June 11, 2022 at First Lutheran Church with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Bill Geraets, son of William and Cecilia (Schwebach) Geraets, was born August 8, 1946 in Dell Rapids, SD. He grew up in Colman, SD and graduated from Colman High School. After high school, Bill attended and graduated from Nettleton Business School.

Bill was united in marriage with Judy Ingemansen on October 8, 1966 in Nunda, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell. Bill was a salesman for the Keebler Company for 40+ years retiring in 2008.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Mitchell, a member and past president of the Mitchell Exchange Club, and a member and past president of the Mitchell Quarterback Club. Bill spent years volunteering for Mitchell community events, including, the State Amateur Baseball Tournament and running the chains for the Mitchell High School and DWU football games for 25+ years.

Bill was an avid sports fan watching all forms of sports. He supported his children and grandchildren in various activities they participated in. Bill also loved to visit and meet with his friends for coffee.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Geraets, Mitchell, SD; two sons, Brian (Patti) Geraets, Albertville, MN, Darrin Geraets, Mitchell, SD; five grandchildren, Mercedes (Aaron) Riggs, Ethan, SD, Bryce Geraets, Mitchell, SD, Micheyla Geraets, Albertville, MN, Alexandra Geraets, Rochester, MN, Mason Geraets, Mitchell, SD; one great granddaughter, Meredith Riggs, Ethan, SD; a brother, Tom (Linda) Geraets, Pierre, SD; a sister, Jan Oakley, Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law, Joyce Lampson, Brookings, SD, Jill (Steve) Pocaisk, Alexandria, SD; brother-in-law, Jack (Pam) Ingemansen, Brookings, SD; and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents.
