Wilfrid Hub Weber, age 83, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday January 23, 2008 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital ER. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM Friday at Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM. Hub Weber, son of Ludwig and Elizabeth (Mayer) Weber, was born in Harrold, SD on October 8, 1924. He moved with his family to Emery, SD where Hub received his education. After high school, Hub was employed at Boeing Aircraft in Washington State. Hub entered the US Army on May 14, 1943 and served in the Southern Philippines. He was honorably discharged on January 29, 1946. Hub was united in marriage with Edna Schroeder on May 29, 1946 in Alexandria, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell, SD until 1951 when they moved to Los Alamos, NM. While in Los Alamos, NM, Hub was employed with the University of California. He retired in 1982 and the couple moved back to Mitchell in May of 1982. Hub was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the American Legion and was a life member of the Elks Lodge. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Edna Weber, Mitchell, SD; two brothers, Tony (Jerry) Weber, Las Vegas, NV, Joe (Jane) Weber, Los Alamos, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Sylvester Weber; two sisters, Gertrude Johnston and Agnes Biehl. In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Holy Family Building Campaign.
