Wayne Royals, age 56, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday October 27, 2007 at his home under hospice care. Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM. Wayne Royals, son of Mack and June (Bennett) Royals, was born June 19, 1951 in Santa Cruz, CA. He grew up in Santa Cruz and received his education there graduating from Santa Cruz High School in 1970. Following his schooling he was employed with Gippetti Concrete Construction in Santa Cruz. Wayne was united in marriage with Penny Christensen on August 7, 1971 in Scotts Valley, CA. The couple made their home in Santa Cruz where Wayne continued his employment with Gippetti Concrete Construction. While in California the couples two children were born. In 1980 they moved to Mitchell, SD and Wayne was employed at Sheesley Construction. He was later employed at Krohmer Plumbing and then for several years at Mueller Lumber Company. In 2000 he retired due to ill health. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Wayne was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed taxidermy and camping. Waynes true love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Penny Royals, Mitchell, SD; two children, Jon (Annie) Royals, Mitchell, SD, Lisa (Darrin) Geraets, Mitchell, SD; five grandchildren; a brother, Warren Doc King, Soquel, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Charlotte Maryatt; and an infant granddaughter.
