Wallace C. Meinke age 88, of Mitchell died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Firesteel Health Care Community. Private family services will be 1:30 PM Thursday, February 21, 2019   at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Wallace Clarence Meinke was born November 20, 1930 in Mitchell, SD to Edward and Alvina (Titze) Meinke. Wallace was a mechanic most of these working years for I-90 Truck Haven and later worked for Wesley Acres in maintenance retiring a year and half ago. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Wallace enjoyed gardening, especially planting tomatoes and other vegetables and giving them to family and friends and stores to sell. He loved lawn work, hunting with his friends and loved to visit with people.

Grateful for sharing his life are his wife Marie of Mitchell, SD; daughter Sherry (Ed) Russell of Scottsdale, AZ; two sons Randy (Kaye) Meinke of Mitchell, SD and Craig (Nancy) Meinke of Tripp, SD; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; two sisters Gloria Garry of Sioux Falls, SD and Sandy Adams of Seattle, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Karin Johnson and sister June Moeller.

In lieu of flowers the family requested that cards of sympathy be directed to Marie at Firesteel Health Care Community.
