Vivian Buchmann, age 94, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Firesteel Healthcare   Community. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a burial 10:00 AM Monday, March 27, 2017 at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday March 26, 2017 at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Vivian Buchmann, daughter or Fred and Rosina (Huber) Hafner, was born January 29, 1923 on the family farm near Alexandria, SD. She grew up and attended country school near Rosedale Colony at Rosedale #3 School. Vivian then attended two years of high school in Mitchell.

While at home, she took care of her invalid mother and helped with the farm work. After her mother's passing in 1944, the family moved to a farm northwest of Mitchell. She then attended Mitchell Business College and started working as a secretary for Kleinsauer Heating and Plumbing for many years in Freeman, SD.

Vivian was united in marriage with Fred Buchmann on January 18, 1970 at her father's home and the couple made their home on Fred's farm near Freeman, SD. She continued her job at Kleinsauer's in Freeman until later moving to Mitchell to retire. She then enjoyed making her home at Firesteel Healthcare Community in Mitchell, SD.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Deloris Hafner, Mitchell, SD; a niece, Karla Erickson, Mitchell, SD; three nephews, Dan Hafner, Tea, SD, Dennis Hafner, Spearfish, SD, Robert Buchmann, Freeman, SD; numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Buchmann; her parents; and two brothers, Marvin and Milton.
