Virginia M. Hubbard, age 78 of Mitchell, died Friday, January 25, 2008 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 31 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Mizpah Cemetery, Plankinton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, January 30, at the Will Funeral Chapel. Virginia Hubbard was born February 18, 1929 in Plankinton, SD to Elmer and Myrtle (Smith) Tietz. She married Phillip E. Hubbard in 1949 and was later divorced. She worked as a waitress and cook for several years. She graduated from Mitchell Vo-Tech. She then worked as a lab-tech at the Mitchell Clinic. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and her family. She is survived by her children, Paul Hubbard and wife Kathy, Mitchell, Donna Wilson and husband George, Mitchell, Shelly Trotter, Independence, KS, Marcia Wholtman and husband Phil, Gilbert, AZ, 15 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; along with two sisters, Marlys Sunding and husband Marv, Florence, AZ and Doris Devilbliss, Melbourne, FL; five brothers, Russel Tietz and wife Rose, Grants, NM, Floyd Tietz and wife Doris, Cour d Alene, ID, Delmar Tietz and wife Lois , Madison, WI, Kenneth Tietz and wife June, Sioux Falls, SD and David Tietz and wife Mary, Montrose, MN; and her cousin and special friend Marie Meinke. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers William, Earl and Franklyn; and four sisters Pearl Jurgensen, Shirley Booher, Verna Page and Sharon Tietz.
