Viola "Ole" Terveen, age 89, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater, SD. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 1, 2016 at First Reformed Church with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 5:00 PM.
Viola Terveen, daughter of Harm and Minnie (Wheeldryer) Stubbe, was born in McCook County on a farm northwest of Marion, SD on February 24, 1927.
On July 1, 1952 she married Kenneth Terveen at her father's home in Marion, SD. After their marriage she worked at Firesteel Healthcare Center, Dodge City Ford and Buckland Railroad.
She was a member of First Reformed Church in Mitchell, where Viola was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Hannah Circle, Royal Heirs and part of the funeral committee.
Grateful for having shared her life are her five children, Nancy (Chuck) McPeek, Mitchell, SD, Darwin (Missy) Terveen, Springfield, MO, Laurie Ann (Jose) Arreola, Dodge City, KS, Patti Jo (Tanya) Terveen, Wichita, KS, Delwin Terveen, Springfield, SD; seven grandchildren, Austin and Kelli McPeek, Jose Jr., Fabian and Ismael Arreola, Darren Terveen and Michael Harman; nine great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Violet Terveen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents; five sisters; two brothers; eight brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
