Viola Vi Hohn, 84, of Mitchell, died August 27, 2004, at the Avera Brady Health and Rehab. The funeral service will be held 1:00PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Vi was born on October 9, 1919, at Wessington, SD to Harold and Tillie (Norby) Shepard. She attended school in Wessington. She married Victor Hohn on October 19, 1946 at Plankinton. They farmed north of Ethan until 1968, when they moved to Mitchell. She was employed at the Mitchell Country Club and then at Sunshine where she worked for over 20 years. She retired and took care of her daughter and later returned to Sunshine where she worked until she retired again in 1994. Vi loved to sew, gardening, and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook and watch Nascar races. She is survived by her daughter Darla Bailey of Mitchell; brother Darwin (Lydia) Shepard of Wall, SD; sister LaVonne Meyers of Huron; three grandchildren, Heather (Wayne) Lambert; Makaela Hughes,and friend David Richey, and Andrea Hughes all of Mitchell; five great grandchildren: Masey, Mathew and Morgan Lambert and Kaylen and Kala Hughes; an aunt, Hazel Menning of Yankton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor in 1998, daughter Cheryl in 1991, her parents, five sisters and one brother.
