Velma Peters, 88, of Mitchell South Dakota passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Firesteel Health Care in Mitchell. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Mitchell.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.  Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Artesian, SD.

Velma was born August 30, 1930 to Clarence and Martha (Smith) Page at a farm northeast of Artesian. She attended country school and artesian school.

Velma married Fred Peters in 1948 in Pipestone MN. She worked at Mitchell Produce, Armour Creamery, and Firesteel Health Care.

She is survived by three daughters and a son; Norma Peters, Norman (Jamien) Peters, Judy (Don) Robertson, Darla (Alan) Dalrymple; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jeremy Peters and his two children, Cecilia and William; Zachary (Jess) Dalrymple and their children, Riley, Molly and Jameson and a special niece, Shirley Caylor.

Velma is preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Maynard, Marvin, and Lyle Page; son, Wayne Peters and granddaughter Tammy Hylland.
