Travis John Naser, 45, of Mt. Vernon, SD died Thursday September 30, 2010 as a result of an automobile accident south of Mt. Vernon. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Mt. Vernon Downtown Auditorium. The scattering of cremated remains will be 12:00 Noon, October 16, 2010 at the Naser Ranch, Gann Valley, SD. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.
Travis John Naser, son of John and Mary (Reiner) Naser, was born October 17, 1964 in Wessington Springs, SD. He was baptized in Zion Lutheran Church. He grew up on the family farm near Gann Valley, SD and attended Prairie Center Country School. Travis graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1983. He then received his degree in diesel mechanics from Lake Area Technical School in Watertown, SD. After graduating he was employed by Wayne Knight farm and then in Yankton, SD for Marquardt Trucking. Travis began his employment at A & G Diesel in 1993 and continued his employment there until his death.
He enjoyed hunting, collecting guns, old western movies, Harley Davidson motorcycles, helping on the farm and his family and friends.
Travis was united in marriage with Lynn Foster on August 31, 2002 in Mt. Vernon, SD. The couple made their home in rural Mt. Vernon, SD.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Lynn Naser, Mt. Vernon, SD; his step children, Michael Hunt, Castle Rock, CO, Matthew Hunt, Castle Rock, CO, Breanna Foster, Mt. Vernon, SD; his parents, John and Mary Naser, Gann Valley, SD; three brothers, Troy (Raeann) Naser, Fort Thompson, SD, Tyler Naser, Gann Valley, SD, Tellis Naser, Gann Valley, SD; a step grandson, Dillon, Castle Rock, CO; 12 nieces and nephews; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louise and Edwin Reiner; his paternal grandparents, Carroll and Ethyn Naser; and a brother-in-law, Bobby.
