Tom Edward Scott, age 61, of Plankinton, SD died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, July 3, 2015 at St. John Catholic Church, Plankinton, SD with burial at Mizpah Cemetery in Plankinton. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Tom Edward Scott, son of Donald and Irene (Kinyon) Scott, was born September 6, 1953 in Pickstown, SD. He grew up and graduated from Plankinton High School in 1972. Tom moved to Mitchell in 1972, and then back to Plankinton where he owned and operated T&D Liquor Store. He was united in marriage with Diane Krell on September 6, 1974 in Mitchell, SD. The couple moved to Wyoming in 1982 and made their home in Gillette, WY and later Riverton, WY. In 1997 they returned to Plankinton, SD. In 1992, Tom started his own business "Scott Construction" and continued to operate the business until his death. He enjoyed camping, golfing, boating and snowmobiling. Tom's greatest pleasures where his family, grandchildren and his work. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Diane (Krell) Scott, Plankinton, SD; four children, Tina Seller, Mitchell, SD, Tami Twigg, Aberdeen, SD, Tom J. Scott, Plankinton, SD and Crystal (Joe) Hoffman, Plankinton, SD; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Donald (Nancy) Scott, Plankinton, SD, Terry (Sally) Scott, Stickney, SD, Mike (Ida) Scott, Plankinton, SD; a brother-in-law, Dennis (Sue) Krell, Dakota Dunes, SD; a sister-in-law, Carol (Ronald) Berens, Plankinton, SD; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Adrianna Seller; his in-laws, Kenneth and Gladys Krell; and a brother-in-law, D'Wayne Krell.
