Thomas Eugene Schuster, age 95, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Firesteel Heathcare Center in Mitchell, SD. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Thomas "Gene" Schuster was born November 14, 1916 in rural Mt. Vernon, SD. The family had 12 children, nine girls and three boys Gene was the youngest of them all. Gene attended country school in the Mt. Vernon area. Gene was united in marriage with Betty Case on December 2, 1938 in Mitchell, SD. He was a mechanic all his life, until retired in 1980. The couple lived in Letcher, SD until 1941 when they moved to Mitchell. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell, SD. Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Garry (Renee) Schuster, Sioux Falls, SD; a daughter-in-law, Verla Schuster, Rapid City, SD; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Schuster on November 4, 2006; a son, James Schuster on November 3, 2006; his parents; two brothers; and nine sisters.
