Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Tanna, daughter of Kevin and Lynette (Peterson) Kingsbury, was born October 14, 1998 in Mitchell, SD. She grew up in the Letcher area and was currently a sophomore at Sanborn Central High School. Tanna was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma on March 27, 2013. Much of the next 1 ½ years of her hard fought battle with cancer was spent receiving tremendous care from many medical professionals in Mitchell, Sioux Falls and Rochester. Tanna had a passion for sports and enjoyed participating in whatever activity was in season. She was active in basketball, volleyball, track, softball, band, chorus and school plays. Tanna's greatest sports memory was scoring two points for the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Lady Blackhawks in the State B Girls Basketball Tournament in March of 2014. When cancer limited her active participation, she could still be found on the sidelines cheering on her teams. Tanna had a love for children and was a role model to many. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, and she inspired and motivated many people with her unwavering strength and determination. Grateful for having shared her life are her parents, Kevin and Lynette Kingsbury, Letcher, SD; three brothers, Tarkenton, Tucker, Trent and a sister, Tatem; her grandmother Delores Peterson, Alexandria, SD; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Arvin and Donna Kingsbury; her maternal grandfather, Darrell Peterson; an uncle, Kurt Kingsbury; and a cousin, Jim Gerhardt.
