Obituary

Susette Sue Wermers, age 49, of Mitchell, died January 18, 2006 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Susette Louise Wermers was born on March 13, 1956, in Mitchell, to Leonard and Joyce (Trent) Tuschen. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1974. She married Ronald Wermers on July 20, 1974, at Mt. Vernon. Sue attended Mitchell Vo-Tech and received her LPN degree in 1975 and was employed at St. Joseph Hospital. She furthered her education at Dakota Wesleyan University earning her AA degree in Nursing in 1988. In 1990, she trained in Baltimore, Maryland and Boise, Idaho and became a cardio-vascular tech. She was recently recognized for her 30 years of service at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. She was very dedicated to her work and continued until she became ill with cancer in 2005. Sue was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, was an instructor of CCD, Avera Lamps Society, and the Mount Vernon Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, boating and yard work. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Ron, of Mitchell; two sons, Clinton Wermers and wife, Shannon, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Kyle Wermers and friend, Rachel Wright, of Midland, Michigan; a granddaughter, Cadence Wermers; her parents, Leonard and Joyce Tuschen, Mitchell, her grandmother, Glenna Peppmuller, Mitchell; two brothers, Gary Tuschen and wife, Jackie, Sioux Falls, Mike Tuschen and wife, Sandy, Stickney; three sisters, Kelley and husband, Mark Willemssen, Shakopee, Minnesota, Kristi and husband, Mark Glissendorf, Sioux Falls and Debbie Rowley, Madison; and her mother-in-law, Shirley Wermers, of Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Francis (Bussy) Wermers. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Heart and Sole Cancer Walk of Mitchell.
