Susan G. Homan, age 61, of Mitchell died Wednesday, December 02, 2009 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 5 at St. Marys Episcopal Church in Mitchell with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will begin from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Will Funeral Chapel with prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Susan was born on August 24, 1948 in Mitchell, SD to Bud and Maxine (Berry) Homan. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1966. She attended flight attendant school in Kansas City, MO. She returned to Mitchell and worked at Commercial Bank in Mitchell until moving to Florida to work with the Tiffany Lamp Company. She then returned to Mitchell to manage the Brig until it was sold in 1978. She excelled in water sports; she was an avid swimmer and water skier. She was also active in her community by speaking out on visual impairments. She formed the M.S. Organization in Mitchell. She loved to laugh and adored her dogs. She also enjoyed watching the Vikings.

She is survived by her mother Maxine, Mitchell, SD; a brother Barry Homan and wife Kim, Devils Lake, ND; and a sister Julie Limerick, San Diego, CA. An aunt Dee Stedman, Mitchell, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Bud Homan and a brother Brian Homan, and her beloved poodle Bouncer.
