Steve Mahoney, age 67, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab under hospice care. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Mitchell, SD with burial at Graceland Cemetery, Mitchell, SD. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Steve Mahoney, son of Marvin and LeNore (Wilson) Mahoney, was born October 29, 1947 in Mitchell, SD. He grew up and received his education in Mitchell, graduating from high school in 1965. After his schooling he was employed at Iverson Max, Palace Motors, Rozum Motors and Coborns. Steve was united in marriage with Barbara Richter on April 3, 1970 in Mitchell, SD. He was a member of the Country Travelers Car Club and Zion Lutheran Church. Steve loved going to car shows and was very proud of his 1968 Plymouth Fury III. Grateful for having shared his life are his two children, Jeff Mahoney, Mitchell, SD, Scott Mahoney, Mitchell, SD; four grandchildren; and a special friend, Marilyn Haas, Mitchell, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Mahoney on April 21, 2001; his parents; and a sister in infancy.
