Sidney Miller, 89, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM. Sidney Miller, son of John and Millie Miller, was born September 13, 1917 in Pecatonica, IL. He moved with his family to Mitchell in 1920. Sidney grew up in Mitchell and received his schooling in Mitchell. Sidney entered the US Army on October 22, 1942 and served four years in the US Army stationed in Alaska while building the Yukon Highway during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 2, 1945. Sidney was united in marriage with Sylvia Miiller on February 18, 1946 in Mitchell, SD. He was employed with Intercounty Electric for 35 years. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Sylvia, Mitchell, SD; one son, David Miller and his wife, Maria, Mitchell, SD; and one grandson, Michael, Mitchell,SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
