Shirley Andachter age 83, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Mitchell, died September 1, 2012 at Good Sam Village in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Burial will be in Serviceman's Memorial Cemetery. Shirley Andachter, daughrter of John and Muriel (Davidson) Thoming, was born July 19, 1926 in Mitchell, SD. She attended school in Mitchell. Shirley was united in marriage with Paul Andachter on January 14, 1947 in Delmont, SD. The couple farmed in Douglas County while Shirley was employed as a dietician at the Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour, SD. She retired in the late 1980's and in 1992 the couple made their home in Mitchell. In 1996, they moved to Sioux Falls to make their home. Her passions were her family, her friends and playing bingo. Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Dennis (Karen) Andachter, Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren, Michael (Anna) Andachter, Sioux Falls, SD, Timothy Andachter, Sioux Falls, SD, Amy (Brian) McEntee, Lennox, SD; three great grandchildren, Allison, Brianna and Collin McEntee; one step great grandson, Matthew Widrig. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; a daughter, Belva Richards; two sisters, Virginia and Fern.
