Sherry Kindley Nelson, age 64, of Mitchell passed on December 9th at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital due to a brief illness with covid despite vaccination status. Sherry's memorial service and luncheon will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Will Funeral Home in Mitchell, SD. The service will be held and able to be viewed on the Will Funeral Chapel web page for those not in attendance, following the service.
Sherry Kindley Nelson, born July 10, 1957 in Marshall, Texas to Jewell Shepherd Kindley and J.C. Kindley.
Mitchell, South Dakota became home to her in 1988 where she married former spouse, Tim Nelson. Sherry was employed at Quality Wood for many years followed by self- employed with then, spouse.
Sherry had many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, sewing, gardening, genealogy and anything involving animals.
Despite her divorce, Tim and her in-laws remained family to the end. Parents in law, Gary and Connie Nelson. Inherited sisters and brother/brother in laws, Gena (Craig) Anderson, Crystal (Lynn) Vanden Bos and Scott Nelson. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sherry leaves behind 2 children: Gary J.C. Nelson of SD and Sandy (Toby) Roberts Gray of Texas; Grandchildren, Jacob (Alex), Savannah, Robyn and Caleb (Melissa); Great grandchildren, Dominik, Jackson, Zyla and Willow. 2 sisters, Opal Kindley and Wanda Kindley. Two furry family members, Dora and Chance along with 9 great grand-dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, niece, Monica Cutrell and brother-in-law, Troy Nelson.
Sherry's faith in God was strong and unbreakable. Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth today you will be with me in paradise." Luke 23:43.
The family would like to thank Sherry's nurses at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital: Gail, Bree, Natasha and Melissa.
