Sheree Onchwari age 53, of Mitchell, died Sunday January 6, 2008 at her home under hospice care surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 9, at the First Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel. Sheree Kristine Davis Onchwari was born July 10, 1954 in Mitchell, SD to Wilton and Evelyn (Huwe) Davis. She received her nurses training at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, and then graduated as a LPN from Mitchells VoTech in 1982. Sheree was united in marriage with Mark Wayne Boje on February 14, 1976 in Garvin, MN. She then was united in marriage with Joshua Onchwari, a native of Kenya, April 26, 1992 in Minneapolis, MN. Sheree was employed at Firesteel Heathcare Center in Mitchell, St. Louis Park Nursing Home in Minneapolis, MN and the Balaton Nursing Home in Balaton, MN. She returned to Mitchell in 1997 and was employed at McDonalds and in the Food Service Department at Dakota Wesleyan University. Sheree then continued her employment at Firesteel Healthcare Center until her illness forced her to retire. She had a zest for life and a passion for nursing and cooking. Sheree enjoyed reading, shopping for antiques, collecting unicorns and snowmen. She also loved playing family games and Nascar Races. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Elizabeth Circle at the church. Sheree will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Shannon and Katrina Davis, Minneota, MN, Melissa and Jesse Thuringer, Mitchell, SD, Matthew Boje, Mitchell, SD; her grandchildren, Amanda, Calista, Jordan, Shannessa and Jaedyn; her mother, Evelyn Davis, Mitchell, SD; brothers and sisters, Karen and Mike Novotny, Rosholt, SD, Craig and Sara Davis, Sioux Falls, SD, Laurie Ell and Kerry Morgan, Mitchell, SD, Mark and Tammy Davis, Mitchell, SD, Dana Davis, Mitchell, SD; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilton Davis; a brother, Stephen Davis; a granddaughter, Nicole; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
