Sheila grew up in Cedar County, NE, and graduated from Hartington Cedar Catholic High School. In 1968, she met Allen Loecker and they were married in 1969. They moved to Mitchell, SD, in 1970.
After Allen did Army basic training in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, they came home with their first child, Scott, in 1971. Sheila worked at Mitchell Motors for about 5 years. During this time they added another son, Jeff, in 1973. Sheila then decided to work part-time to spend more time at home with the boys. In 1976, they welcomed a third son Ron.
After the boys got older Sheila went back to work full time. She spent 18 years working for the City of Mitchell Public Works. She retired in 2012. She and Allen enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with their grandkids
Sheila was known for her bigger-than-life laugh and enjoying fun times with friends and family. Some of her favorite past times were spending weekends around a campfire and never refusing to dance. She spent decades as part of her Yarn and Yak group chatting with the ladies.
