Sadie Pauline Waters, age 91, of Mitchell, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Servicemen's Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Sadie Pauline Waters was born on November 5, 1919 at Menno, SD to Jacob and Lydia (Handel) Gevens. She attended country school and graduated from Lesterville High School in 1938. Sadie attended Southern State Normal at Springfield, SD and graduated with an elementary degree. She taught country school in Yankton County. Sadie was united in marriage with Harold Waters in 1940. She worked a number of years for Schultz Chiropractic Clinic and also managed Eastridge Apartments. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild. Sadie was also a member of the American Postal Auxiliary and served as secretary for NARFE. She is survived by her children, Mary (Dick) Goudy, Mitchell, SD, Maxine Taylor, Mitchell, SD, Gregory (Kathy) Waters, Sioux Falls, SD, Russell (Fran) Waters, Minneapolis, MN; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; an infant granddaughter; a great grandchild; a son-in-law, R.W. Taylor; her parents; two brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Mitchell.
