Ryley Peer, 20, Rapid City, formerly of Artesian, died Friday, July 30 at Hot Springs. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 5, at 10:00 AM in the Artesian Gymnasium. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Wake services will be held Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell. Ryley Joe Peer was born August 13, 1983, at Huron to Charles and Wendi (Nelson) Peer. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Artesian. He attended kindergarten through twelfth grade at the Artesian-Letcher school and graduated in the spring of 2001. While in school he participated in football and track. He was very active in the Union Farmhands 4-H Club for 10 years. Ryley enrolled in telecommunications at Mitchell Vo-Tech, graduating in 2003. He moved to Rapid City to work for MAC Construction. Hunting and fishing was his life. He was a member of the Sand Creek Archery Club. He loved to hunt with his dog, Rowdy. He is survived by his parents of Artesian; brother, Shilo, Artesian; paternal grandparents, Warren and Betty Peer, Artesian and maternal grandparents, Robert Gus and Joanne Nelson, Letcher; special friend, Katie Coy, Rapid City, SD; aunts and uncles: Rick Nelson and wife, Linda, Marion, SD; Sue Severson and husband, Bob, Garretson, SD; Teresa Nelson, Pine Bluffs, WY; Marilyn Hodges and husband, Paul, Redfield, SD; Cindy Lewis and husband, Larry, Fedora, SD; Liz Hoffman, Artesian, SD; numerous cousins and many close friends. A memorial will be established in lieu of flowers.
