Ron Tietz died peacefully at home on October 27th, 2017, after a yearlong battle with cancer, surrounded by his wife and children.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, and Memorial Services will be at 6:00 PM  at Will Funeral Chapel.

Ron, the son of Shirley and Earl Tietz, was born on August 12, 1962, In Mitchell, SD.

He attended high school in Mitchell. On May 26th, 2000, he married Amanda Bates, and had two children together.

Ron worked for Marv Vanderpol at Vanderpol Dragline, for many years, until starting his own construction business specializing in roofing, concrete work and block retaining walls, in 1998. He continued in his business up until his illness in November, 2016.

Ron was a lifelong hunter, fisherman, and camper, and especially enjoyed these activities with his family.

He took a lot of pride in his vegetable garden each summer, and was known for his green thumb.

Ron always had a story to tell, and a sense of humor.

Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Amanda, son, Cody, and daughter, Jessica. He is also survived by his brother Bob (Brenda) Tietz, Sunlake Arizona, sister Betty Jo Tietz, Sioux Falls, his aunt June Tietz, Sioux Falls, his uncle Dave (Mary) Tietz, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Earl Tietz, and an uncle, Ken Tietz.
