Ron Andera age 70, of Mitchell died October 17, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 22, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Stickney, SD. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell with a prayer service beginning at 5:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Stickney.

Ronald (Ron) T. Andera was born on March 27, 1948 to Edward and Rosalia (Kaus) Andera in Plankinton, SD. He attended school in Stickney and entered the US Army in January 1968. Ron attended his basic training at Ft. Lewis, Washington and then went to Ft. Lee, Virginia for AIT training. Ron then was stationed at Ft. Clayton in Panama and then Ft. Carson, Colorado. While in the US Army he was a Food Storage Specialist. After his military service he worked in Grand Forks, ND before returning to Stickney and then moving to Mitchell. Ron worked at Dakota Manufacturing, A&W, Dakota Cheese and then went on to cook for the bowling alley, Towne House Café, Betty's Café, Jackpot, Miss Peggy's and retired after cooking at Rita's Café. Ron always loved to cook and was good at it. Ron loved playing cards, especially Pinochle, watching Twins baseball and the Vikings, and visiting with his friends and neighbors at Meadowlawn.

Grateful for sharing his life are five brothers, Bernard (Barb) Andera, Edwin (Madeline) Andera, Alvin (Diana) Andera, Roger Andera and Gail (Carol) Andera; two sisters in law Kay Andera and Mary Andera: numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leonard, Richard and David.
