Roger Wayne Brink, 70, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 in Minneapolis, MN.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, February 25, 2022 at Will Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be at the Mizpah Cemetery in Plankinton, SD.

In lieu of flowers the family requests thank your local firefighter or EMT.

Roger Wayne Brink , son of Herman J. and Jennie D. (Hansen) Brink, was born October 4, 1951, in Platte, SD. The family lived in Plankinton SD, before his father passed away then in 1957 moved to Mitchell, SD. He attended grade school in Mitchell and graduated Mitchell High School in 1969. Roger enjoyed many careers in his life including, carpentry work, electrician, driving truck. However, his favorite career was workings as a Fire fighter/ EMT. He was a firefighter/EMT in Mitchell SD and in Dodge City Kansas.

He was united in Marriage to Patricia Kappenman in 1970 in Mitchell SD. They Made their home in Mitchell while raising two children Chris Brink of Mitchell, SD, and Jennifer (Tadd) Holt of Watertown, SD. They divorced after 14 years but remained friends. In 1989 he married Karen Lambert and had one more child Lara Brink of Milwaukee, WI and co-parented three other children Seth, Guy and Marcus Mernaugh while living in Artesian.

In the 1990's Roger added animated -Grandpa to his resume. He took a visible role in his grandchildren's lives- often teaching them pranks, age-inappropriate jokes and he had a hilarious toast for every occasion. He is directly responsible for the outrageous misbehavior of his grandchildren. The world was a happier place thanks to Roger.

His final years were spent in Bloomington, MN at Martin Luther Care Center. Roger was a source of comedy and laughter throughout the community. He had so much fun with staff and residents and met so many great friends along the way. One very special friend he met there was Nicki Chance who had recently become his fiancé. The two of them loved spending time together. Often Nicki and Roger would leave the home to explore the neighborhoods in Bloomington.

Grateful for having shared his life are fiancé, Nicki Chance, Bloomington MN, his beloved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, Sisters Bonnie (Dave) Meyerink, Sharon (Steve) Stocker and nieces and nephews he adored.

He is preceded in death by his parents, cousins and many aunts and uncles.

Roger requested this to be a celebration of life! Please pay your respects by sharing fun memories, interesting sayings or how he impacted your life.
