Rodney Dale Allen, born in Spencer SD, died at age 71 on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Firesteel Heights Hospice Care in Mitchell SD.  Preceded in death by infant son, Dean Allen, parents Mabel (Wibben) and Wallace Allen of Spencer SD, and brother Wallace E. Allen of Spencer SD.  Survived by daughter Rachael Garrison and grandchildren Madison and Brayden Booth, sister Janice (Dennis) Bennett of Spencer SD, Warren (Mary) of Bradenton FL, sister-in-law Cathy Allen of Spencer SD, many nieces and nephews, and long-time friend Linda Morehead of Mitchell SD.  Rod served in the US Army including a tour of duty in South Korea.  He donated his body to the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion SD.  A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
