Robert H. Wagner, age 79, of Mitchell, formerly of Alexandria, died April 3, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM with a 7 PM prayer service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Cemetery at Alexandria. Robert was born November 24, 1926, southeast of Alexandria, SD on the family farm, to John and Agnes (Kayser) Wagner. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1944 and started farming with his father. He married Rose Ann Heiter on July 22, 1946, in Alexandria. They lived on the original Wagner homestead and operated a grain and cattle farm. They moved to Mitchell in the fall of 1988. Robert was a District Manager of the Davison County Conservation District and in later years worked part time at Toshiba, Carquest Auto Parts and did volunteer work for the Police Dept. He is survived by his wife, Rose; three children, David and wife, Vera, of Woodbury, MN, Sylvia Wagner and husband, Robert Pullman, of Lees Summit, MO, Anthony (Tony) and wife, April, of Minnetonka, MN; two grandchildren, Christine Wagner, Simpsonville, SC, Nicholas Pullman, Lees Summit, MO; and one brother, Richard and wife, Rita, Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons, John and Michael and two brothers, Charles and Raymond Wagner. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Holy Spirit Catholic Church for the John Paul II School Endowment in the memory of Robert H. Wagner.
