Robert "Bob" Schneider, age 91, of Alexandria, SD died Friday, June 15, 2018 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria with burial at St. Mary of Mercy Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, June 18, 2018 at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church with a prayer service followed by a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.

Robert George "Bob" Schneider was born May 25, 1927 to Leo and Catherine (Schroeder) Schneider in Alexandria, SD. He attended school in Alexandria for all 12 years and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1945.

After being high school sweethearts, Bob married Lois Theis on May 3, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria. They were married for 65 years and resided in Alexandria throughout their life together.

Bob was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a long standing member of the Catholic Foresters. He was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Bob was a carpenter and was well-known around the area for his exceptional construction of countless houses and buildings including the St. Mary's church hall and shrine, as well as apartments and homes in Alexandria, Salem, Emery and Mitchell. Bob and Lois enjoyed traveling and took many wonderful trips in the United States and Europe.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his children, Pam of Omaha, NE; and Dan and wife Lisa of Scottsville, VA; and their children, Elizabeth, Emily, Robert, Daniel, Luisa and her husband Jeremy; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Lois; an infant daughter Gladys Catherine; his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Phyllis Schneider.
