Robert Bob Phillips, Sr. age 74, of Mitchell, died April 8, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Robert LaVern Phillips Sr. was born December 14, 1932, in Mitchell, SD to Roy and Grayce (Davis) Phillips. He attended Longfellow Elementary School and Mitchell Junior High. He married Margaret Nelson on October 3, 1950 in Luverne, Minnesota. Robert worked on construction for Fred Breer and then worked at Mitchell Produce as a truck driver. He was employed by the city of Mitchell from 1960 until 1985 when he retired and moved to Mississippi. In June 2002, he returned to Mitchell to make his home. He is survived by his children: Grayce Teves, and husband, Roy, San Jacinto, CA, Sandy Ates, Edwards, MS, Robert Phillips Jr and wife, Diane, Lynn Zoss, and husband, Mark, Stickney, SD, Tammy Bultje and husband, Doug, Plankinton, Wayne Phillips and wife, Jan, Muskogee, OK, Dawn Schrader, and husband, Vernon, Ft. Gibson, OK, Mike Phillips and wife, Janelle, Mitchell; nineteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; brothers: Lloyd Phillips, Mitchell, Bud Phillips, Mitchell, George Phillips, Camarillo, CA and Gary Phillips, Charlotte, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret and son Pat, his parents and two brothers and one sister.
