Robert D. Butts, 71, of Fedora, SD died August 31, 2007 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Robert D. Butts, son of Herbert and Lottie (Chapman) Butts, was born August 22, 1936 in Letcher, SD. He attended school in Mitchell, SD and graduated from Huron High School. After his school, Robert entered the US Navy and served in Korean. He was honorably discharged on July 13, 1962 and made his home in California. Robert then began his career with the United States Postal Service. He retired after 35 years of service with the Post Office. After his retirement he made his home in Fedora, SD. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and in his younger years Robert participated in various sports. Survivors include his two daughters, Denise Reker, Kanas City, MO, Debra Downey and he husband, Todd, Oxnard, CA; grandchildren; a brother, Charles Butts, Mitchell, SD; a sister, Virginia Skelly, Mitchell, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bobby Jr.; three sisters and two brothers.
