We will all greatly miss him. He was a smart, honest and hardworking man. When he wasn't at work you would find him in his shop working on motorcycles whether it was his or someone else's. Motorcycles were his passion and if he wasn't riding one, he was either working on one or sitting in his shop talking about them. He looked forward to his yearly trip to Sturgis with his close friend Perry. Dad rode his motorcycle or trike to the Sturgis rally every year that he went except one and he went there for over 40 years straight. Aside from motorcycles he could make or fix just about anything. If he needed a special tool to fix something he usually made the tool he needed to fix it.
In March of 2022 he suffered a stroke that affected his right side. Through physical therapy and the determination to regain his independence he was able to walk with a cane and do most other things independently. He was able to return to the garage and tinker on things again. He always took pride in his motorcycles and keeping them clean and enjoyed spending time polishing them.
Then in 2025 he was diagnosed with cancer and endured 5 rounds of chemotherapy. He had three separate types of cancer and unfortunately, they resisted the chemo and he had to stop after five sessions. It was then that we made the decision to take him home and make him comfortable for his remaining time here with us.
He is survived by his wife Dona of over 50 years; his children, Ericka (Tony) and Levi (Kristin); two very special granddaughters, Madyson and Ellee; his dog/best couch potato buddy, Mr. Bones; siblings, Art (Marsha), Esther (Bob) and Elaine (David); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister, a niece, and his mother-in-law.
