Robert E. Arteberry age 80, of Emery, SD died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home with his wife by his side. Celebration of Life services will be 7:00 PM Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 4PM until time of service on Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Robert Earl Arteberry was born May 29th 1937 in Fairfield, Ill. to John and Elizabeth (Barnhart) Arterberry. Robert grew up in Illinois. He left for 9 yrs. while serving in the Air Force. He returned to Illinois where he worked in a manufacturing plant and raised 3 boys.

In 1995 he married Susanne and in 1997 moved to Emery, South Dakota. He loved fishing and hunting, but his true passion was catfishing.

In June of 2017 he was diagnosed with cancer that had spread. Robert enjoyed one last hunting trip in December to get his elk.

He is survived by his wife Susanne; 3 sons, Cliff (Cathy) of Parkersburg IL, Loren (Lynita) of Parkersburg, IL, Kevin (Ellen) of Claremont IL.; 7 grandchildren, Brian, Craig, Tyler, Chris, Carson, Nicole; 4 great-grandchildren, Julius, Addisyn, Blake and one on the way. Several nieces, nephews and good friend he considered a brother Eldon Fauth

He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Mary and Amy
