Rita Mae Rowley, age 74, of Mitchell, SD died Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday October 30, 2010 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Rita Mae Rowley, daughter of Floyd and Brownie (Broer) Ulsh, was born June 29, 1936 in Great Bend, KS. She moved to Huron, SD as a young girl where she attended school.

Rita worked at St. Johns Hospital and the Chef Caf before being united in marriage with Fred Dalrymple. To this marriage three children were born, Michael, Alan and Peggy. Rita later was united in marriage with Lloyd W. Rowley on November 18, 1959. To this marriage three children were born, Debra, Lloyd and Rex.

Rita owned her own trucking company for many years. She drove truck for Dakota Cheese, Mitchell Pack, Dakota Manufacturing, Altermans and Action Carriers. She also trained other drivers. Rita retired in 1990 due to health reasons.

Grateful for having shared her life are her six children, Michael (Stephanie) Dalrymple, Morrison, IL, Alan (Darla) Dalrymple, Torrington, WY, Peggy Dalrymple, Mitchell, SD, Debra Rowley, Mitchell, SD, Lloyd Rowley, Sioux Falls, SD, Rex (Angie)Rowley, Becker, MN; 21 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three step children; seven step-grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew and three great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Rowley on October 14, 1969; her parents; an infant son; a sister; a brother; and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Ritas name.
