Rita Moldrem, age 77, of Mitchell, SD, passed away on March 3, 2020 in her home.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, March 9, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 1 PM to 3 PM with a 3 PM Rosary on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Will Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be at Servicemen's Cemetery.

Rita Josephine (Reif) Moldrem passed away peacefully in her home March 3, 2020. She was born March 19, 1942 to Ray and Rose Reif in Salem, SD. Rita had just been placed on Hospice for two weeks at the end of her struggle with stomach cancer.

Rita married Al Moldrem September 5, 1981 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She worked at Bauer Dental Studio followed by seventeen years of employment at Avera Brady.

Rita was always willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed socializing with friends and being with family. There was never a complaint through all the trials and suffering of her life. Rita survived several bouts with cancer and for the past eight years she lived in near total blindness due to macular degeneration. Even with these difficulties, she had a great desire to live and a strong faith in God. She attended Holy Spirit weekly and was thankful to receive Last Rites from Father Short.

Rita is survived by her husband Al Moldrem and son John Ridgeway both of Mitchell; grandsons Victor (Jenny) Ridgeway of Emery, Mason and Major Ridgeway of Sioux Falls; brother Richard (Susan) Reif of Rapid City; sisters-in-law Janet Reif of Salem, Vi Ness-Kline of Marion IA, and Lila Sexton of Gold Canyon, AZ, ; brothers-in-law Howard Caylor of Ethan, Ed Moldrem of Paso Robles, CA and Jim Moldrem of Mitchell.

Rita was preceded in death by her daughter Velma Dawn (7 months old) and son Rory (17 years old when he died from bone cancer); her parents Ray and Rose Reif; her parents-in-law Hilda and Leon Moldrem; sisters Sharon (Bud) Kennedy, and Reneau Caylor; her brothers Gerald Reif and Roger Reif; and sisters-in-law Leona Zundel and Irene Robinson.

Eternal rest grant onto Rita, O Lord.
