Richard Allan Dick Weber, age 68, of Mitchell, died February 4, 2007 at the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Dick was born February 2, 1939, in Crookston, NE, to John George and Ivaline Marie (Luhring) Weber. He attended St. Johns Catholic School for eight years and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1957. After graduation, he went to Seattle, WA and worked for Boeing for 6 months. He then attended the National School of business for two years and graduated with a Business Administration Degree. On July 1, 1961, he married Doris Ann Kneeland at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. He worked for Associates Finance Company for 15 years and became manager in the office in Mitchell, SD in 1968. He was President of the Cancer Society in 1970 and served on the Holy Family School Board for three years. He was a volunteer fireman for eight years and then became a full time fireman in September, 1977. He retired in June, 1990, after having a heart attack in 1989. He has been a member of Holy Family Church since moving to Mitchell in 1968 and a member of the Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Doris Weber; four children: Sue Block (Greg), Gilbert, AZ; Doug Weber and his girlfriend, Jenne Schlaffman, Parkston, SD; Nancy Almendinger (Randy), Sioux Falls, SD; and Jeanie Callahan (Kevin), Forest Lake, MN; thirteen grandchildren: Alex, Cassie, Angie, Jen, Bryce, Chaise, Nick, Sam, Courtney, Brooke Kelsey, Connor, and Jack; three great grandchildren; a brother, Jack, Greeley, CO; three sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.
