Obituary

Richard "Dick" Tines age 65, of Corsica, formerly of Mitchell, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Pleasant View Good Samaritan Home in Corsica. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, August 15 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Rock Creek Cemetery of Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Sunday at Will Funeral Chapel. Richard D Tines was born on June, 27 1946, in Mitchell, SD, to Charles and Selma (Lassegard) Tines. Dick grew up in the Wasta/Wall area, and graduated form Wall High School. Dick attended college at Spring Field. SD. On May 1st, 1971 he married Elizabeth (Bette) Trippler. To this union was born 2 sons, Kevin and Rich. Dick was a kind caring quiet man with a lively sense of humor. He especially enjoyed managing a group home for handicapped adults in Chamberlain. Dick raised his family in Wagner, Chamberlain, Gillette, WY, and finally on their farm near Mt. Vernon. Dick retired from Twin City Fan in Mitchell due to health reasons. Even as Dick's health declined, he enjoyed cutting firewood with his brother Dave and spending time with his son, Rich. Grateful to have shared his life with him are his son Rich, Mitchell, SD, Brothers David, Loomis, SD, and Bill (Diane), New Underwood, SD, brother-in-law Lloyd Roebuck, Colorado, niece Roxene and Melissa Tines, Amy Huether, Krista Nichols, nephews Shayne Tines, Done Dean Hawkins, and several great nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Bette, Sister Sonja Roebuck, Sister-in-law Noretta Tines, oldest Son, Kevin, and parents Chuck and Selma, and special cousins Jack Tines, and Kay Williamson.
