Regina Mae Costello was born November 28, 1939 in Boscobel, WI to Russell and Emmy (Smith) Corey. She grew up in Wagner, SD where she attended the Wagner community schools. She attended the Stewart's Beauty School in Sioux Falls, SD. After graduating beauty school she moved to Pierre, SD where she met her husband James Costello. They married in 1965 and divorced in 1980. She loved to host family get-togethers and to cook enough food to feed an army. She was famous for her fried chicken throughout the neighborhood. As a single mother she worked several jobs to support her family. Some of most memorable jobs were, The Community Drug and Alcohol Center, West Forty Café and I-90 Café. Grateful for sharing her life are her children, Jimmy Costello of NE, Janelle Phillips and husband Mike, Russell Costello and wife Angie, Richard Costello and wife Taya and Rhonda Costello all of Mitchell; sisters Katherine Johnston and husband Bob, Mary Chrans and husband Bob and Carolyn Corey; brother Larry "Butch" Corey; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother James "Rennie" Corey.
