At midnight, May 20, Raymond Sigmund turned 93….. We sang songs, had cake, and at 1:15 AM he quietly left the party.

Ray was born May 20, 1928 in Davison County to Herman and Mary Sigmund.  He married Frances Bates on September 8, 1947, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage.

He was a member of Mitchell Wesleyan Church since 1968. He was a lifelong resident of Davison County.

He enjoyed gardening, raising melons that he shared with so many, and canning cucumbers for pickles that went to all the family!

In his later years he enjoyed both hunting and many days out on his boat fishing.

Those left to "cherish the memories" and looks forward to being reunited with him in heaven one day are - his sister,   Beverly Stemper; his four children, David (Jeree) Sigmund, Judy (Wayne) Mueller, Don (Terry) Sigmund, Sue Gerlach; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Leonard, two sisters, Irene and Evelyn.

His children wish to extend a special thank you to the incredible staff at Firesteel Health Care for their care for our dad throughout the past year, and who were so very caring to both him and his family in the days leading up to his home    going!

In lieu of flowers; the family requests memorials to be directed to Mitchell Christian School.
