Ralph Douglas Tassler, age 79, passed away on October 11, 2023 at Faulkton Nursing Home, Faulkton, SD. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Will Funeral Chapel; visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial with Military Rites will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Doug was born on May 6, 1944 in Harrold, SD. He grew up in Harrold and later lived in Pierre. He served in the Army and spent most of his adult life working road construction. He moved to Mitchell in 1990 and lived there until he went into the Faulkton Nursing Home in 2019 due to his MS. Through the years he was married and divorced and had 4 sons; Doug, Randy, Shain, and Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Tassler, father, John Tassler, and his son, Shain Tassler.

Doug is survived by his sons; Doug (Darla) Tassler of Vermillion, SD, Randy (Laurie) Bailey, of Fargo, ND, Zachary Tassler of Mitchell, 3 grandchildren, 4 siblings; Sharon (Bill) Lengkeek of Presho, Don (Karen) Tassler of Pierre, Kenneth (Vicki) Tassler of Pierre, Tom (Sandy) Tassler of Harold, as well as many nieces and nephews.
